Faculty Position.

The University of Georgia Department of Chemistry invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in organic chemistry, beginning August 1, 2020, at the level of Assistant Professor. UGA Chemistry has organic expertise both in core areas (e.g., synthesis and methods, physical organic, catalysis) and in crosscutting fields related to our interdisciplinary centers and institutes (e.g., Complex Carbohydrate Research Center, New Materials Institute, Center for Computational and Quantum Chemistry). All areas of organic chemistry will be considered that build upon this range of expertise. Competitive applicants will have a strong research record, demonstrate creativity in their research plans, and exhibit a commitment to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. A Ph.D. in chemistry or related field is required at time of appointment; 1 to 2 years of postdoctoral experience is highly desirable. Candidates should submit a cover letter of interest with a brief summary of research accomplishments, curriculum vitae, and concise statements of research plans and teaching interests, and arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be submitted. The application materials must be submitted electronically here. Correspondence can be directed to the search committee chair, Prof. Eric Ferreira. To receive full consideration, completed applications should be received by October 15, 2019.

The Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, its many units, and the University of Georgia are committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty and students, and sustaining a work and learning environment that is inclusive.
