Undergraduate Program

Chemistry is a foundational science for many programs and majors at UGA. We offer two tracks for an undergraduate degree in Chemistry. Our BSChem in Chemistry is designed for the student who intends to become a professional chemist, while the BS in Chemistry is designed for the student who intends to major in chemistry but may wish to pursue a career in some other science-related field, including the health sciences, business, and the legal profession.

Undergraduate students look on as a graduate student gives a tour of an organic chemistry research lab

Our undergraduates have the option of obtaining an ACS-certified B.S. in Chemistry. We graduate around 40 B.S. Chemists each year.
