Peer Learning Assistants in Chemistry
Credit Hours:
2 hours. Repeatable for maximum 6 hours

Students will serve as Peer Learning Assistants (PLAs) in a 1000-level General Chemistry course. Working alongside the instructor and a graduate teaching assistant, PLAs will serve as a resource to help students learn chemical concepts and applications, solve theoretical and numerical problems, and strengthen critical thinking skills.

Nontraditional format:

Students will serve as Peer Learning Assistants for 3-hours per week in a 1000-level General Chemistry course. In addition, they will spend up to 3 additional hours helping to develop class activities for the General Chemistry course.

Prerequisites:
CHEM 1210 or CHEM 1210E or (CHEM 1211 and CHEM 1211L) or (CHEM 1311H and CHEM 1311L) or (CHEM 1411 and CHEM 1411L)
