The Graduate School policy is that TOEFL scores expire on the last day of the two year anniversary of the testing date. For example, a test taken on Jan. 1, 2016 is valid until Dec. 31, 2017. If UGA receives an official application for admission to graduate school before a TOEFL score expires, the Graduate School will use that score for whichever term the applicant is applying for. In other words, the score needs to be valid when the application is received.
